After a couple of weeks, our official smartphone rankings are live and kicking and it has a new champion. After months of being virtually uninterrupted on the top, the HTC One M8 has been dethroned by the Galaxy Note 4.
And it’s really no surprise. Anyone who’s had, used, or felt the Galaxy Note 4 will generally tell you it is brilliant. It’s got a fantastic display. For the first time, it has a nice solid build quality. The leather finish on the back feels nice for once. The camera is superb, the battery life is immense, and there’s very little at fault. Perhaps more impressive is that it’s 30 votes ahead of the HTC One M8. And unlike our old official smartphone rankings, you don’t have to vote every single week. It doesn’t refresh every week. What you vote for stays as your vote until you decide to change your mind.
Now, I wanted to know whether or not this is how you wanted things to stay. Do you think we should change it so that it refreshes every month so we can have a monthly champion? Or should we leave it as it is and you can just change your vote, vote for something new whenever you feel like it? Let us know in the comments below.
As for the current standings, I’ve already said the Galaxy Note 4 is in first place on both People’s and Expert’s Choice panels. In second place in the People’s Vote Chart is the HTC One M8. The LG G3 is in third place with the BlackBerry Passport in fourth and the iPhone 6 in fifth. Similar phones are on the Expert’s Choice list too because the Galaxy Note 4 is currently on first place with the iPhone 6 on second. The LG G3 is in third and the HTC One M8 is in fourth with the iPhone 6 Plus on fifth.
As I mentioned, when I introduced the official smartphone rankings, you can search for any phone that you like. As long as you have the product page on PhoneDog.com, you can search for the device and hit ‘Vote Now’ on any product. Now you can see the OnePlus One on the list and it’s doing quite well. So if you don’t see the phone that you like on the list, then just search for it and chances are it’ll be there.

Let us know in the comments if you think we should refresh the vote count once per month, once per week, or never refresh it. Should there be a monthly champion crowned? Give us your thoughts and feedback in the comments section or tweet me @PhoneDog_Cam
