Apple typically drops new iOS beta software around mid-day on Mondays. Apparently the Cupertino firm decided to do things a bit differently with iOS 8.1.1, though, as it released the beta for that update late last night.

The iOS 8.1.1 beta is now available for download from Apple’s Developer Center. The update is build 12B432 and it’s available for the iPhone 6 Plus, iPhone 6, iPhone 5s, iPhone 5c, iPhone 5, iPhone 4s, iPad Air 2, iPad mini 3, iPad Air, iPad mini 2, iPad 4, iPad mini, iPad 3, iPad 2 and iPod touch fifth generation.

According to Apple’s iOS 8.1.1 release notes, this new update contains “bug fixes, increased stability and performance improvements for the iPad 2 and iPhone 4s.” That’s a pretty vague changelog, but it’s nice to see Apple showing some love to its customers that are clinging to their aging iPad and iPhone models.
