The HTC Nexus 9 is now available for preorder from the Google Play store, and with it came a couple of accessories that are worth taking note of.
The Nexus 9 Keyboard Folio is exactly what it sounds like. The folio covers both sides of the Nexus 9 when closed, and when open, you can prop the tablet up at two different angles. The mechanical keyboard connects over Bluetooth. Google says that the Nexus 9 Keyboard Folio will be priced at $129 and that it’s “coming soon.”
If you’d prefer to save some cash and just get a protective cover for your new Nexus tablet, the Nexus 9 Cover may be up your alley. Priced at $39, the cover attached to the Nexus 9 using magnets. You can then open the cover and fold it to have it act as a stand for easy typing or watching. The Nexus 9 Cover is available in Black, Lime Stone, Coral Amethyst and Mint Indigo and, like the Nexus 9 Keyboard Folio, it’s listed as “coming soon.”
Google has a bit of a mixed past when it comes to offering Nexus accessories, with some of its past products arriving months after the device that they were intended for. Here’s to hoping that the Nexus 9 Keyboard Folio and Cover both arrive soon, especially since Google touts the N9 as being “made for getting stuff done,” which might be a bit more difficult to do without that physical keyboard folio.
