Android L is slated to begin rolling out to the public this fall, and current flagships are likely to begin getting the update shortly thereafter. You Samsung Galaxy S5 owners don’t need to wait to get an idea of what your phone will look like after installing the update, though, as details of the GS5’s version of Android L have leaked.

The folks at SamMobile claim to have gotten hold of an early build of Android L for the Galaxy S5 with the build number LRW58J. The update is too buggy for everyday use, but the site has shared many details of the the GS5’s flavor of L to keep us occupied while we wait for the official release.

Some aspects of the update are similar to what we saw at Google I/O earlier this year. Samsung has included heads-up notifications for things like incoming calls as well as notifications on its lock screen.

When it comes to Samsung’s own TouchWiz apps, those have gotten a makeover as well. Many apps now feature a white design rather than the blue look of old.

Samsung’s version of Android L still has a ways to go before it reaches our phones, so I’m sure that we’ll see some more design changes and performance improvements in the future. Still, it’s nice to get a preview of the TouchWizzed Android L, which looks like a mix of Samsung and vanilla Android L. The look may not appeal to Android purists, but it should be a nice update for existing Samsung users.
