Just as promised, VSCO Cam for Android is now available for download from the Google Play Store. The app allows users to capture a photo and then use one of several filters, also known as Presets, and other editing tools to tweak the image to their liking.
The Android version of VSCO Cam doesn't appear to stray too far from the look of the iOS app, sporting a similar, minimalist design and button layout. Also included with VSCO Cam for Android is support for VSCO Grid, the platform on which users can upload their photos to be viewed by other VSCO Cam users.
VSCO Cam for Android is a free download that comes with 10 filters and several tools. Additional filters are available for purchase inside the app. The app weighs in at 14MB and is compatible with "most" Android 4.0 devices.
VSCO Cam has long been available to iOS users, but today's launch on Android markets the first time that the app has been available on a non-Apple platform. While there are countless photo apps available on iOS, VSCO Cam has proven to be one of the more popular options among mobile photographers. It's good to see VSCO Cam for Android finally come out of beta and hit the Play Store, giving Android shutterbugs another photo app to experiment with. Have you used VSCO Cam for Android yet? If so, what do you think of it?
