ASUS took the wraps off of the Transformer Pad 300, and a few other Android-powered slates, back at MWC at the tail end of February, but at the time the company opted not to share any launch or pricing details for the new device. It looks like ASUS is now in the mood to open up a bit, though, as a spokesperson for the company told PCWorld that the Transformer Pad 300 is due to arrive in the U.S. on April 22nd. While the spokesperson said that pricing information for the Transformer Pad 300 would be revealed on the 22nd, wholesale retailer BJ's has the 32GB model listed on its website with a price tag of $399.99.
For those that may not remember, the Android 4.0-powered Transformer Pad 300's spec sheet includes features like a 10.1-inch 1280x800 display, 8-megapixel rear and 1.3-megapixel front cameras, 1GB RAM and 1.2 GHz quad-core Tegra 3 processor. It may not feature a display that's as high-res as its 1920x1200 Transformer Pad Infinity brother, but the Transformer Pad 300 still could be a nice option for folks in the market for an affordable Android tablet. (As long as the purported pricing holds true, that is.) Any of you prospective tablet buyers interested in the Transformer Pad 300?
