Hungry for a taste of Mango? You may not be waiting much longer. According to a report out of Pocket-lint, Microsoft will release Windows Phone Mango on Thursday, Septemeber 1st. This date was chosen, say the site's sources, because it's right before the IFA conference will kick off in Germany, giving device manufacturers a chance to show off their new devices with Mango pre-installed. Pocket-lint also mentions that Nokia is expected to make its first Windows Phone handset at Nokia World at the tail end of October.
Microsoft has only said that Mango would be arriving sometime this fall, but I'm sure that the Redmond-based firm would like to push out the newest version of Windows Phone as soon as possible. The arrival of Mango would most likely bring with it a wave of new WP7 hardware, which the platform needs, and give the new OS more time on the market before the arrival of new Ice Cream Sandwich-powered Android phones and the iPhone 5.
