Itching to get a sneak peek at exactly what webOS 3.0 is all about? Thankfully, we non-developers don't have to wait until the TouchPad's launch this summer for an in-depth look at the third version of webOS, as the folks at PreCentral have given the beta of the webOS 3.0 SDK an exhaustive hands-on. Although the experience was not without a few issues, which is to be expected with a beta SDK running in an emulator, there were plenty of parts that worked well. In particular, PreCentral noted that the revamped versions of Email, Maps, and Music apps in webOS 3.0 are shaping up nicely. If this news has your interest piqued, there's an 18-minute video of the SDK in action embedded below and, if that's still not enough, a gaggle of photos have been posted at the source link.
We won't really know how webOS 3.0 will handle in day-to-day use until the TouchPad arrives in the summer, possibly in June, but HP seems to be doing a pretty good job with the newest version of the OS so far. Keep in mind while you're checking out video and images that the SDK is still in beta, so it's entirely possible that things could look and control differently by the time webOS 3.0 actually ships later this year. After taking in everything that the webOS 3.0 SDK has to offer, be sure to share your opinions of it with us below!
