The Motorola XOOM was finally made available to Honeycomb-hungry consumers last week, but those of that want a WiFi-only version of the device are still waiting for it, or even some concrete launch info, to arrive. Well, we'll still without a firm launch date, but we do have some other exciting news concerning the WiFi XOOM. The folks at Droid-Life have received photos showing that Sam's Club could be gearing up to launch the device for $539, a whole $61 less than the price Moto CEO Sanjay Jha gave last month. Then again, if the XOOMs at Sam's Club end up sporting "Android 2.0 Homeycomb," you may want to look somewhere else for your tablet purchase.
While the Verizon-branded XOOM's $800 price tag may be a bit much for some consumers, I've got a feeling that a $539 WiFi-only XOOM will be much more palatable. This is especially so when you consider that a similarly-eqipped, 32GB WiFi-only iPad costs $599. We're still not sure when the WiFi XOOM is actually going to launch, but it's hitting Europe in the first week of April, so we'll be keeping our ears to the ground for news on a U.S. launch.
