HTC's EVO Shift 4G has been leaking pretty regularly over the past couple of months, and today the more information about the handset has come to light thanks to a well-known retailer. Walmart has jumped the gun and put up the EVO Shift 4G on their site along with a handful of specs that should get anyone in the market for a new Android phone to stand up and pay attention. Listed simply as the "EVO Shift," the device is said to have the following features:
While it's pretty disappointing that there's no Gingerbread to be found on the EVO Shift 4G, the physical QWERTY combined with a high-res display and WiMAX connectivity should keep users happy until HTC gets around to updating the device. Considering how quickly they managed to get the EVO a helping of Froyo, I wouldn't be surprised if Gingerbread came to the EVO Shift shortly after its launch, too. The keyboard-toting EVO Shift is expected to launch this Sunday, January 9th, and should be announced even sooner, so be sure to keep it locked to PhoneDog.
UPDATE: The EVO Shift 4G has finally been spotted in the wild, and its retail packaging confirms that its will indeed be called the "EVO Shift 4G" when it launches. Also, it sounds like the camera is going to be a little lower-res, sitting at 5 megapixels rather than 8.
