Google announced today that is will file a formal application on Monday, December 3rd (deadline is Dec 5) to participate in the 700MHz spectrum auction which begins January 24, 2008. Google will be bidding on a portion of the spectrum that has become known as the ?C Block?. This portion of the spectrum is unique in the fact it will require the winner to provide their customers with the freedom to choose which device and software applications they want to use on the network.
Google plans on entering the bidding wars without any partners ? I guess you don't need or want partners when you have that
kind of money at your disposal. ;P
