I am sorely in need of some positive iPhone news right now. Thank goodness my friend Will Park, over at IntoMobile was on duty today. He posted an item about Netflix possibly ramping up with its own app. This is different from the account management app, which already sits in the store, in that it would stream movies from Netflix customers' instant watch queues directly to the phone via Wifi.
There has been buzz around a Netflix app for a long time… Well, okay, maybe “buzz” is a strong word. There’s been some well-documented pining for this. But now the company has taken a solid step forward, polling users on their interest level in a streaming iPhone app. That may not seem like verification that it’s coming — until you consider that a similar poll was conducted before Netflix launched the service on the Nintendo Wii and Sony PS3. (For some users, me included, this would be a huge help in staving off the frustration of waiting for Hulu to finally arrive on the handset.)
