Nearly two months after it was originally announced alongside the iPhone 12, Apple's MagSafe Duo Charger has quietly gone on sale.
The MagSafe Duo Charger is available from Apple for $129. Apple says that orders placed today could arrive as soon as December 3 with the fastest shipping option, so if you want one, you could have a MagSafe Duo Charger recharging your iPhone by the end of the week.
Included with the MagSafe Duo Charger is a wireless charger that can recharge your iPhone at speeds up to 14W when paired with a 27W or higher USB-C power adapter, or at speeds up to 11W with a 20W USB-C power adapter. There's also an Apple Watch charger included with the MagSafe Duo Charger, and the whole package can fold up to take up less space when traveling.
Apple includes a 1m USB-C to Lightning cable with the MagSafe Duo Charger, too. But one thing that's not included is a USB-C power adapter to plug the MagSafe Duo Charger into, so you'll also need to buy one of those if you don't already have one.
The appeal of the MagSafe Duo Charger is convenience. It gives you one charging device that you can use for both your iPhone and Apple Watch that can fold up for traveling. It's not a cheap device and it can't charge the iPhone 12 quite as fast as the regular 15W MagSafe Charger can, but for some people those trade-offs will be worth the convenience the MagSafe Duo Charger provides.
