Ever since we first got wind of Samsung's upcoming clamshell foldable phone, we've been wondering if it would be a new member of the Galaxy Fold family or if it would get an entirely different name. Today a report has come out that claims to have the answer.
Samsung's upcoming clamshell foldable will reportedly be called the "Galaxy Bloom". Aju News (via SamMobile) claims that Samsung CEO DJ Koh held a meeting at CES this week to show off Samsung's upcoming products, and they included a slide calling the upcoming foldable "Bloom".
Some people have thought that "Galaxy Fold" would just be the name for Samsung's series of foldable phones and that this upcoming clamshell device would be the Galaxy Fold 2. Now it sounds like that may not be the case, and instead Samsung will reserve the "Galaxy Fold" name for devices that have the same tablet-like form factor of the original Galaxy Fold.
Also mentioned in this report is that Samsung's next Galaxy S flagship will be known as the Galaxy S20, not the Galaxy S11, which backs up other reports we've heard recently. Both the Galaxy Bloom and Galaxy S20 will reportedly come to market with 8K video recording, too.
Samsung is hosting a Galaxy Unpacked event on February 11th, and it's widely expected that both the Galaxy Bloom and Galaxy S20 will be officially revealed there.
