Pokémon Go is one of the more popular mobile games in recent history, and now the developer behind it is trying their hand with another major title.
Harry Potter: Wizards Unite is the latest game from Niantic. Available on Android and iOS, it's an augmented reality (AR) game that has you roaming around the real world, casting spells and fighting bad guys in an effort to collect Foundables and return them to the wizarding world. These foundables can be discovered everywhere, including parks, monuments, libraries, and more.
You'll also find items out and about, like ingredients for brewing potions and Portkeys that'll send you to iconic wizarding world locations. You can also visit Inns to replenish your Spell Energy.
Another major feature of Harry Potter: Wizards Unite is the ability to take part in Wizarding Challenges with your friends. These battles will pit you against stronger enemies that'll require you and your friends to work together to defeat them. You can strategize and use your different magical professions to beat the bad guys and earn rarer Foundables.
Pokémon Go was huge when it launched in 2016, immersing mobile players in the world of Pokémon and getting them out and exploring the real world while capturing monsters. Now Niantic is applying a similar formula to Harry Potter, and so far it looks like it could be a great game for fans of that world. Plus, Niantic has shown that it's committed to its games, pushing out lots of updates and improvements to Pokémon Go over the years, so if you get into Harry Potter: Wizards Unite you'll likely have some new stuff to look forward to in the future.
Harry Potter: Wizards Unite is now available in the U.S., U.K., Australia, and New Zealand and will roll out to more counties in the coming weeks.
