Following reports that suggested that Apple will wait until 2020 to release a 5G iPhone, a new report claims to have more information on what those models might look like.

Apple's 2020 iPhone lineup will reportedly include three models: two 5G phones and one 4G LTE model. Analyst Ming-Chi Kuo claims that the 5G phones will come in 6.7-inch and 5.4-inch versions, both with OLED screens, while the 4G LTE model will have a 6.1-inch OLED screen.

Kuo, who has been an accurate source of Apple rumors in the past, goes on to say that all of Apple's iPhones will support 5G in 2021. Looking even further ahead, Kuo claims that Apple will have its own 5G modem ready in 2022 or 2023, eliminating the company's reliance on Qualcomm for modems.

This report is notable because, in addition to giving us more info about Apple's 5G plans, it suggests that Apple will tweak the screen sizes of its iPhone XS and iPhone XS Max models next year. The two phones currently have 5.8-inch and 6.5-inch screens, respectively, but both sizes could change next year.

While still unconfirmed, such a move could make sense because it would likely please fans of each model. Folks who like the iPhone XS Max likely want a phone with a big screen, so they'd get an even bigger display next year, while people who like the iPhone XS and its small(ish) screen would get a smaller display. Meanwhile, the iPhone XR model would stay in the middle of the two and lack 5G, but get upgraded to an OLED screen.
