Drops call, Bad reception

Posted on: July 12th, 2018 by heart4orphans

I have the Text Now free service and my husband the paid service. It is horrible. We stay with it because it's cheap. Half the time I can't make call when I want. It deletes the names of my phone contacts randomly. The names that I put in on the computer don't carry over to my phone app so I have to put in every contact twice. I also get calls and texts from strangers, so they are selling my number. Reception is terrible and sometimes get a text a day later than it was sent. You can bring your number in, but you can't move from Text Now to someone else and keep your number.

Text Now regular user

Posted on: March 24th, 2017 by Intensity

Bought 3 phones 1 for me 2 for family members. Typically i only use data when on a private network and from that point the calling and data work fine. I signed us all for basic service and phone calls and texting away from private network are decent about 80% on 4g. When my pack is used for the month and on their network calls become more unreliable about 60% ;good and texts can be delayed for hours or until o get back to a private network. If you have to get the call or text done instantly without delays don't buy this service. If it dosnt matter then it is fine. My biggest gripe is the annoying message that comes up wanting you to upgrade. When your plan is gone that message pops up every couple minutes. Called them on that a month ago and yet they still choose to annoy me rather than get rid of the annoyance and hope they can keep me as a paying customer for a very low quality service. If they vdont change that when i replace my phones again it will be with another company.

Avoid Text Now

I would stay far away from this company. Quality is poor and calls drop frequently inspite of what their coverage map claims. I was also told if I went over my data limit my browsing and such would slow down until next bill cycle. Turns out that your phone will be suspended until next bill cycle which forces you to upgrade if you need your phone. Suspension happens with NO warning. Phones are also below adequate. You get what you pay for! I wish I had listened.

Avoid this company

Things you're review missed: 1) You must text every 2 days or you can lose your phone number. Forgot? Sucks to be you 2) Customer support is non-exisitent. The FAQ's are generic, support pages are for a small subset of problems, and try and contact someone 3) The phone comes with no documentation on how to setup, how to use. See above about no help Based on reviews, we made the mistake of buying a phone (at least we were only out $20) and plan from Textnow. No one can text to the phone (brilliant, right? A company called Textnow and you can't text to it), and the phone can't make calls (error: Sorry, we only support calls to North America. We are in N. America, we were calling N. America). You get what you pay for. In the case of Textnow, you get less, far less. Avoid this company.

TextNow Wireless

The worst by far. It may be a good concept to "integrate" the Sprint cell network with the Internet backbone but this execution is worthless. Numbers that redial; proxy numbers that lead to dubious connections; dropped calls. And their reduction in speed when I reached the 1 MB 3/4G limit turned out to be a total disconnect from their network that could not be corrected. They have no chat support: calls remain on hold for 45 minutes to an hour; e-mails are not answered or even recorded as a service issue. This is either a completely fly by night Canadian/Indian/Alien operation or else the Chinese decided to set up a failing wireless provider to get more insight into the American customer mindset when they have to cope with a living hell.
