AT&T 5G+ is now live in Chicago

AT&T rolled out quite a few upgrades to its low-band 5G network in 2020, eventually reaching nationwide coverage. It's also got a high-band 5G network that uses millimeter wave (mmWave) spectrum, and today that coverage is getting a boost.

AT&T's 5G+ network is now live in parts of downtown Chicago. Specifically, AT&T says customers in Chicago can expect to find 5G+ coverage inside The Loop and along the Magnificent Mile as well as at the United Center. AT&T's low-band 5G coverage is also available in Chicago.

With today's expansion, 5G+ coverage is available in parts of 37 U.S. cities:

Phoenix, Los Angeles, Menlo Park, Oakland, Redwood City, San Bruno, San Diego, San Francisco, San Jose, West Hollywood, Jacksonville, Miami, Miami Gardens, Orlando, Atlanta, Chicago, Indianapolis, Louisville, New Orleans, Baltimore, Ocean City, Detroit, Charlotte, Raleigh, Las Vegas, New York City, Cleveland, Oklahoma City, King of Prussia, Philadelphia, Nashville, Austin, Dallas, Houston, San Antonio, Waco, Milwaukee

5G+ uses millimeter wave spectrum, which doesn't reach nearly as far as low-band but can offer super-fast speeds up to 1Gbps. It's compatible with devices like the Galaxy Note 20 Ultra, Galaxy S20+ and S20 Ultra, Galaxy Z Fold 2 and Z Flip, the LG Wing, and the iPhone 12, iPhone 12 mini, iPhone 12 Pro, and iPhone 12 Pro Max.
