LG Wing video leak shows swiveling mechanism in action

Ever since we first started hearing about the LG Wing, we've been eager to see just how the phone's swiveling design would work. And thanks to a new leak, we don't have to wait until September 14 to find out.

A new YouTube video shows the LG Wing in action. It starts with the phone in a "T" shape with the main display in a horizontal position showing its notification center while the smaller second display has app shortcuts and its own navigation buttons. We then get to see the main screen swivel and cover the second display.

The software on the main display appears to transition pretty smoothly from the "open" position to the "closed" one. Unfortunately, we don't really get to see any apps running on either display.

The brief video also gives us a quick look at the sides of the LG Wing, showing that the main screen is fairly thin while the second screen and the rest of the body are thicker.

The dual swiveling display design of the LG Wing could be useful for multitasking, like watching a video on the main display and chatting with a friend on the second screen or web browsing on one display and sending an email on the other.

Rumors have said that the LG Wing's specs will include a 6.8-inch main display, 4-inch secondary screen, 5G support, and a Snapdragon 700-series processor. It's expected to launch in the US this fall at a price of $1,000.

There have been some interesting mobile devices launching lately, including phones with foldable displays and dual screen folding form factors. There's nothing else like the LG Wing on the market right now, though, and so we're definitely looking forward to trying that swiveling design for ourselves.
