Google Kids Space coming to Android tablets to highlight kid-friendly content

Tablets can be great devices to help entertain and educate kids, and today Google is launching a new feature to highlight content for kids.

Google Kids Space is a new kids mode for Android tablets that'll focus on apps, books, and videos to help kids learn and have fun. It features a bright, colorful interface with big buttons, and kids can create their own character to make the space their own.

You can also customize Kids Space further by selecting a child's interest to help get appropriate content for them. There will be daily content recommendations for kids to interact with as well as fun facts and jokes.

Google says it worked with book publishers to make more than 400 books free to access in Kids Space in the US. There's a Watch tab where kids can watch fun videos from YouTube Kids as well as a Make tab that'll encourage kids to take part in off-screen activities. And if you need more content, parents can download more stuff from Google Play.

Kids Space does require a Google Account for your child. This feature will be available on select Lenovo tablets first, including the new Lenovo Smart Tab M10 HD Gen 2, and it'll become available on more Android tablets soon.
