Oppo already has one of the speedier fast charging offerings on the market with its SuperVOOC 65W charging, but soon it's going to nearly double that.
Oppo has teased a 125W fast charging solution. A recent tweet from the company says, "If you don't like waiting to charge, the wait is almost over." It's accompanied by a video that shows a number going from 65W to 125W followed by the date July 15, 2020.
We've often seen Oppo at the front of the fast charging race, and so it's no surprise to see the company teasing a 125W fast charging feature. There may be some concerns about how such a high wattage fast charging solution could affect a smartphone's battery degradation, and so we're looking forward to learning more about Oppo's newest fast charging effort and how it's worked to address that problem.
It's unclear when we might see Oppo launch a new phone with 125W fast charging, but we might learn more once July 15 rolls around. Stay tuned.
