AirPods Pro receiving a new firmware update from Apple

Most of the time when we're talking about software updates, it's a phone or tablet that's getting updated. Today it's a different kind of device.

Apple's AirPods Pro are now receiving an update to firmware version 2D15 (via MacRumors). This is the third firmware update the AirPods Pro have gotten since launch, with the previous two coming in November and December last year.

There's no word yet on exactly what's included with this new AirPods Pro update, and Apple doesn't typically provide a changelog for these updates. Once AirPods Pro owners have installed the update and begin using them, we may find out more about what changes Apple has made to its truly wireless earbuds.

Unlike the iPhone or iPad, you can just check for this AirPods Pro update manually. Updates are installed when your AirPods Pro are connected to an iOS device. You can try to make the update come by putting your AirPods Pro in their case, plugging the case into power, and pairing the AirPods Pro to your iOS device.

To see what firmware your AirPods Pro are currently running, connect them to your iOS device and then tap Settings > General > About > AirPods and check "Firmware Version".

In other AirPods Pro news, Amazon is still running that deal we told you about over the weekend, offering Apple's truly wireless earbuds at the discounted price of $234.95. So if you're working from home and could use some new earbuds with active noise cancellation, check this deal out!
