YouTube Music update brings improved controls to player page

YouTube Music subscribers, there's a major new update that's beginning to roll out today that brings with it a new look for the player page.

The new-look YouTube Music player includes an always-visible button that lets you flip between a song and a music video, a feature that's only available with YouTube Music. You can see the toggle above the album artwork.

Also rolling out are static lyrics, giving you highly visible words to follow along with while you're listening to songs. Google tells us that this feature will continue to be developed and improved, too.

Another improvement being made to the YouTube Music player is the addition of repeat and shuffle features on the player page, giving you quicker access to both controls.

Finally, Google tells us that downloading, sharing, and adding songs to playlists is now easier because you can access them just by tapping on the album art.

These new features are rolling out to YouTube Music on Android over the coming weeks, with an update for iOS planned for the near future.
