Razer intros Hammerhead True Wireless earbuds with ultra-low latency mode

There are lots of companies getting in on the truly wireless earbuds market lately, including Apple, Samsung, Amazon, and Huawei. Now we can add Razer to that list.

The Razer Hammerhead True Wireless earbuds are now available direct from Razer for $99.99. Razer is out to fight lag with these new earbuds, and the company says that they're using a customized ultra-low latency Bluetooth 5.0 connection. There's even a special Gaming Mode that will reduce the latency to 60ms.

These new earbuds have touch controls to let you change songs, answer calls, and activate your phone's digital assistant, and the IPX4 water-resistant design will help keep them safe when you're working out. Razer says that the Hammerhead True Wireless earbuds will last for 3 hours on a single charge, and the charge case will get you another 12 hours of battery life. The charging case recharges using USB-C.

And then there's the sound, which is pretty important since these are earbuds. The Razer Hammerhead Truly Wireless earbuds use a 13mm driver and have a 20Hz-20kHz frequency response. Razer says they've also got an impedance of 32 ± 15% Ω and a sensitivity of 91 ± 3 dB @ 1 kHz.

At $99.99, Razer's Hammerhead True Wireless earbuds are more aggressively priced than the truly wireless earbuds from some other major mobile companies. Alongside that price, perhaps the most enticing features of Razer's earbuds is the super low latency Gaming Mode, which is something that could make these appealing for if you watch a lot of movies or play lots of games on your phone.
