New Cricket Wireless deal offers a free smartphone with a new line of service

In the market for a new prepaid phone? Cricket Wireless launched a deal this week that offers a variety of prepaid smartphones for free.

Customers who activate a new line of service on a Cricket unlimited plan can choose one of eight free Android smartphones. This offer excludes upgrades and at AT&T ports. The list of devices eligible for the deal looks like this:

  • Moto G7 Supra
  • Moto E5 Cruise
  • Nokia 3.1 Plus
  • Nokia 3.1 C
  • LG Stylo 5
  • LG Harmony 2
  • LG Fortune 2
  • Samsung Galaxy J2 Pure

This deal is available online and in Cricket stores, and it'll be available through October 1. Cricket's unlimited plans start at $55 per month for unlimited talk, text, and data with speeds up to 3Mbps, 480p video streaming, Mexico and Canada usage, and unlimited texts from the U.S. to 37 countries. Cricket also offers a $60 unlimited plan with unlimited data speeds up to 8Mbps and 15GB of mobile hotspot usage.

In other news, Cricket today launched a few new devices. The Cricket Icon features a 5.5-inch FWVGA+ display, 5MP rear and 2MP front cameras, a MediaTek MT6739 processor, and 16GB of built-in storage with a microSD card slot. It's available for $79.99.

Cricket is also now selling Apple's new iPhone 11 series. The iPhone 11 starts at $699.99, while the iPhone 11 Pro and iPhone 11 Pro Max start at $999.99 and $1,099.99, respectively.
