Last week, Samsung surprised no one with its announcement of the Galaxy Note 10 lineup. The company unveiled yet another powerful flagship phone, one that is already raking in the rewards from publications like DxOMark for its camera performance and DisplayMate for, well, the displays. For fans of the Samsung brand, and the Galaxy Note phablet lineup in general, it sounds like the Note 10 is another home run.
Before the phones were even announced, Samsung opened reservations. At the time, I asked whether or not Samsung's pre-order deal was the way you were going to go, opting to reserve a new Galaxy Note 10 even before you knew which variants might be available.
But now we know which models went up for pre-order last week, and which ones go on sale later this month.
As is par for the course with these types of variants, there are some important changes from one to the next. For example, the Galaxy Note 10 has the smaller display, measuring in at 6.3 inches. Meanwhile, the Galaxy Note 10+ and Galaxy Note 10+ 5G offer a 6.8-inch display in both models. And of course, the difference between those two latter handsets is the fact that one has 5G connectivity and the other doesn't.
But while the screens may vary in size, they both feature the same technology and support for HDR10+, among other things. The Galaxy Note 10 has a trio of cameras on the back, while the Galaxy Note 10+ variants boast four total rear cameras. There is plenty of RAM and available built-in storage in each model, and they all support the new, redesigned S Pen.
There is a lot to like in all the models, and pricing will obviously play a role for potential owners. The Galaxy Note 10 starts at $950, while the Galaxy Note 10+ starts at $1,100. And the Galaxy Note 10+ 5G will cost you $1,300 to make it yours. Since we're all accustomed to the $1,000 smartphone none of these prices are all that shocking, but it's still good to see Samsung didn't get ridiculous with it.
