Google Maps adding live traffic info for buses and transit crowdedness predictions

Take public transit? The new features in Google Maps are for you.

Google Maps is getting support for live traffic delays for buses. With it, you'll be able to see if your bus will be late, how long the delay will be, and more accurate travel times that are based on the live traffic conditions along your route. Google Maps will also show you where the delays are on a map.

Also coming to Google Maps is crowdedness predictions. This feature is just what it sounds like, aiming to predict how crowded your bus, train, or subway will be based on past rides. This can help you decide whether you want to try and squeeze in on a bus or wait for another, less likely ride.

These features are now rolling out in Google Maps for Android and iOS in nearly 200 cities around the world. They sound like great additions for folks who use public transit, making it easier for you to plan your bus, train, or subway trip and getting you prepared for your ride.
