Motorola RAZR could make a comeback as a foldable phone with a $1,500 price tag

The RAZR name could be returning once again.

Lenovo is reportedly partnering with Verizon to launch a new RAZR phone. The Wall Street Journal claims that the device could be released as soon as February and that its price could be set at $1,500. The report does caution that this new RAZR is still in testing and so the final details could still change.

When it come to features, this new RAZR phone is said to be a "smartphone with a foldable screen". That's about the only thing that's known about the device right now, though, as there are no spec details available.

The original Motorola RAZR flip phone is one of the most iconic and popular cellphones ever. Motorola and Verizon tried to bring the name back years ago with their DROID RAZR line of super thin smartphones, but those didn't quite reach the same popularity as the original RAZR. Now Lenovo wants to try and use the RAZR name again. It's unclear exactly what this device will be, but by combining the RAZR name with the foldable smartphone form factor that seems to be getting trendy right now, this new device will at least draw some attention whenever it does launch.
