Google Pixel 3 Lite and Pixel 3 Lite XL shown off in renders

Last month, we got an early look at a device referred to as the Pixel 3 Lite, which is expected to be a more affordable version of Google's current flagship. But that may not be the only "Lite" phone that Google is cooking up.

New renders have appeared that claim to show both the Google Pixel 3 Lite and a Pixel 3 Lite XL. Based on factory CADs and shared by OnLeaks and 91mobiles, the images show two phones that share a similar design that includes a two-tone back and a rear fingerprint reader.

These alleged Pixel 3 Lite and Pixel 3 Lite XL renders also show the changes that Google may be making in order to get the pricing of these phones down. There's only a single front camera on these phones rather than the dual front shooters found on the standard Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL, and it's said that there's only one speaker on these phones as well.

Google has ditched the notch on the Pixel 3 Lite XL, and may have thickened up the side bezels on both phones as well. Finally, both phones are said to have polycarbonate backs instead of the glass backs found on the Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL.

One interesting feature that Google appears to have added to these phones is a 3.5mm headphone jack, which would give buyers another option for using headphones with the devices. Today's report also claims that the Pixel 3 Lite will have a 5.5-inch display while the Pixel 3 Lite XL will boast a 6-inch screen, which would be slightly smaller than the Pixel 3 XL's 6.3-inch display. Both phones are said to boast a Snapdragon 670 processor along with 4GB of RAM, 32GB of storage, a 12MP rear camera, and an 8MP front camera.

There's no word on when Google might release these phones or how much they might cost. Considering the changes Google have made to them, though, it seems likely that the Pixel 3 Lite and Pixel 3 Lite XL are meant to be a bit cheaper than the Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL, which start at $799 and $899, respectively. If Google gives the Pixel 3 Lite and Pixel 3 Lite XL camera performance that's similar to the standard models along with a lower price, they could be pretty intriguing devices.
