Samsung teases upcoming Infinity displays with notches

That Infinity Flex Display isn't the only new screen type that Samsung has coming soon, as the company today teased a few more Infinity displays that it says are coming soon.

Samsung today showed Infinity-U, Infinity-V, Infinity-O, and New Infinity displays that it plans to use soon. "These are new concepts that are just right around the corner," said Hassun Anjum, Samsung's Director of Product Marketing, "and I can't wait to tell you more about them."

In the teaser image that Samsung showed on stage, we can see the Infinity-U display has a U-shaped notch like the one on the Essential Phone. The Infinity-V screen has a similar notch, but with a V-shape instead of a U. The Infinity-O notch is a small circle in the corner of the screen, and the New Infinity is like the Infinity Edge display on the Galaxy S9 in that it has no notch.

Samsung is one of the only major smartphone makers that has avoided the notch so far, so it's interesting to see that Samsung may finally launch devices with notches soon. The good news for folks who don't care for notches is that at least the notches on these Infinity-U, Infinity-V, and Infinity-O notches are pretty small, especially compared to notches on devices like the iPhone XS.
