Some Google Pixel 3 XL phones have buzzing or distorted speakers

Looks like that camera issue isn't the only problem that new Google Pixel 3 XL owners have to watch out for.

Several Pixel 3 XL owners are reporting that the speakers on their new phone sound distorted or are buzzing. As spotted by Android Police, lots of folks have chimed in on Reddit with similar issues, and user qtpa2tnh says that their testing suggests that the low-to-mid-range frequencies are especially an issue here.

Google hasn't issued a statement on the situation, so it's unclear what's going on or what the solution might be. Some folks say that the problem went away on its own, while others have returned their Pixel 3 XL or gotten it replaced with a new unit.

Here are two videos that can be useful for testing your Pixel 3 XL's speakers.

Lots of folks listen to music or play audio from videos using their phone's speakers, so having a Pixel 3 XL with buzzing or distorted speakers could be a real issue. What's even more disappointing about this news is that the Pixel 2 XL suffered from a similar issue last year, and those owners just had to get a new phone and hope that it didn't have the same problem. It's unclear if that'll be the same situation with the Pixel 3 XL, so we'll just have to wait and see if Google comes out with any info about the matter.
