Google isn't the only Android device maker releasing a security update today.

Essential has been pretty fast with Android updates lately, including when it began pushing Android 9 Pie to the Essential Phone on the same day that Google released it to Pixel devices. That trend continues today with the September security update, which has to be exciting for Essential Phone owners.
