Apple releases iOS 12 beta 4, watchOS 5 beta 4 updates

Testing the iOS 12 beta? If so, it's time for another update.

Apple today released iOS 12 beta 4 to registered developers. If you've signed up with Apple as an iOS dev, you can get this update over the air by going into Settings > General > Software Update on your device. You can also download it from the Apple Developer Center on the web.

The update to iOS 12 is a biggie, adding grouped notifications to help clean up your lock screen, Do Not Disturb improvements, and digital wellness features to help you understand how much you use your phone and to set app limits. There are four new Animoji, too — a tiger, a ghost, a koala, and a dinosaur — as well as a Memoji feature that'll let you make your own Animoji character.

iOS 12 will launch to the public this fall. For more info and to see the update in action, you can check out our hands-on video right here.

Apple today also unleashed watchOS 5 beta 4 to developers. The update to watchOS 5, which will also roll out to the public this fall, will include features like Walkie-Talkie for quickly communicating with others using your watch, Activity Competitions, and auto workout detection.
