A new month means new Android security updates for Google's Nexus and Pixel phones.
Google today released the June 2018 security update for its Pixel and Nexus devices. These updates are starting to roll out over the air now, but Google has also posted the factory images and OTA images if you'd prefer to update that way.
Alongside its updates, Google has posted an Android Security Bulletin that details which vulnerabilities have been patched in this latest update. Included in the June 1, 2018 update are patches for vulnerabilities affecting the framework, media framework, while the June 5, 2018 update adds patches for kernel components, as well as for components from LG, MediaTek, NVIDIA, and Qualcomm.
Finally, Google has detailed the functional patches that it's included for Nexus and Pixel devices in this June update. All Nexus and Pixel phones are getting improved Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) performance, while all four Pixel phones are getting improved Wi-Fi connectivity with certain Wi-Fi access points and a correctly displayed IMEI SV format.
The Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL are also gaining improved antenna-switching behavior in weak coverage areas. Rounding out this month's functional patches are improved consistency of Always On Display and improved proximity sensor behavior for the Pixel 2 XL.
