Android Wear 2.0 updates hitting Fossil smartwatches, TAG Heuer Connected this month

Last month, Google confirmed that Android Wear 2.0 would be coming to a number of existing devices. Now it’s up to the manufacturers to reveal when those updates will hit their watches, and today that’s precisely what two of them have done.

Fossil says that it’s begun pushing Android Wear 2.0 updates to its Gen 1 devices and that its remaining watches should receive their updates starting March 15. Fossil expects all of its watches to have Android Wear 2.0 by the end of March. So if you’ve got a Fossil smartwatch, you shouldn’t have to wait much longer to get your update to Android Wear 2.0.

And then there’s the TAG Heuer Connected. Owners of that watch may be feeling a bit bummed today now that their smartwatch is being replaced by a shinier, newer model, but there’s some good news for them: TAG Heuer says that the original Connected will receive its Android Wear 2.0 update at the end of March.

Android Wear 2.0 is a major update for Google’s wearable platform. It brings new features like Google Assistant, support for typing and handwriting messages, an on-device Play Store for downloading apps, and more.
