AT&T giving DirecTV Now customers a loyalty reward

Heads up, DirecTV Now subscribers, because AT&T is hooking you up with reward for using the service.

AT&T has announced DirecTV Now loyalty rewards for subscribers. If your DirecTV Now account was active before March 6, 2017, you’re eligible to receive an award. The reward that you get will depend on the plan that you’re signed up for.

DirecTV Now customers on the Live a Little and Just Right plans will receive $5 credits for six months. Customers on the Go Big and Gotta Have It plans will get free HBO service for 12 months. If you’re on a Go Big or Gotta Have It plan and you’re already signed up for HBO, you’ll automatically be credited for the service.

Now seems to be a good time for AT&T to launch a loyalty offer for DirecTV Now customers. The service had a bit of a rocky launch, with complaints of buffering and freezing, so this loyalty reward is a way to thank DirecTV Now customers for sticking around. And then there’s the fact that YouTube is coming out with its own streaming service soon, and so this reward could deter DirecTV Now customers from thinking about jumping ship.
