Verizon Galaxy S7 and S7 edge receiving Android 7.0 Nougat update

Good news, Verizon Galaxy S7 and S7 edge owners: Nougat is here.

Verizon has confirmed that it’s now pushing Android 7.0 Nougat to its Samsung Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 edge. The updates began rolling out today, March 6, but these software updates can take some time to hit all devices. So if you’ve got a VZW Galaxy S7 or S7 edge, your update will come, it might just take some time.

Verizon Galaxy S7 and S7 edge owners can manually check for this update by going into Settings > About phone > Software updates > Check for updates.

As for what’s included in the update, you can expect Nougat goodies like improved app multi-window support, a better keyboard, and the ability to display images as part of the Always On Display feature.

We’ve already seen Android 7.0 hit the Galaxy S7 on other carriers, so it’s nice to see Verizon sending out Nougat to its own GS7 and GS7 edge. This is a significant update, so if you’ve got a VZW GS7 or GS7 edge, keep an eye out for your helping of Nougat over the coming days.
