Verizon MiFi 7730L Jetpack is a new mobile hotspot that's now available

With most smartphones and tablets offering built-in mobile hotspot capabilities, dedicated hotspots aren’t quite as big as they used to be. Some folks may still want a standalone hotspot so that they don’t drain their phone’s battery using it as a hotspot, though, and Verizon has a new device for them.

The MiFi 7730L Jetpack is a new LTE mobile hotspot from Verizon. It’s a global device with LTE Advanced support, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, and the ability to connect up to 15 devices at once.

Also included with the MiFi 7730L Jetpack is a 2.4-inch 240x320 color touchscreen that’ll show you how much data you’ve got left in your plan, the number of devices connected to your hotspot, your signal strength, your battery charge, and more.

The MiFi 7730L Jetpack includes a USB Type-C port that can be used for attaching mass storage and sharing that data across a network. You can also use that USB Type-C port to charge other devices using the MiFi 7730L Jetpack’s battery, which measures in at 4400mAh.

Verizon is now selling the MiFi 7730L Jetpack in stores and online. Pricing is set at $199.99, or $49.99 with a two-year contract.
