Android Pay integrating with Visa Checkout and Masterpass for faster online payments

Android Pay users, you’ll soon have many more places to use Google’s mobile payment service online.

Google is partnering with Visa and MasterCard to make paying for things online easier. With this partnership, you’ll be able to use Android Pay to make payments on websites that accept Visa Checkout or MasterCard’s Masterpass. You can do this by linking your Visa Checkout or Masterpass account with Android Pay.

Once you’re all linked up, you’ll be able to pay for things on sites that support Visa Checkout or Masterpass using your Android Pay account. That means that you’ll be able to use your phone’s fingerprint reader to authenticate, or your preferred authentication method.

Android Pay’s integration with Visa Checkout and Masterpass will roll out in early 2017.

This new feature will come in handy when you’re shopping online because it expands the number of places that you’ll be able to buy with Android Pay. This will reduce your reliance on a Visa Checkout or Masterpass account, instead letting you just use your Android Pay fingerprint to pay rather than digging out a password.
