Google releases Wallpapers app into the Play Store

Google today released a new Android app called Wallpapers.

As its name suggests, Wallpapers will provide you with different wallpapers for your Android phone. The app includes images from Google Earth, Google+, and “other partners,” and you can even let the app pick out a new wallpaper for you every day.

Wallpapers will also let you select different home and lock screen wallpapers, but this feature is only supported on devices running Android 7.0 Nougat or higher.

What’s notable about this app is that its features are built into Google’s new Pixel and Pixel XL phones. The release of this Wallpaper app means that owners of other Android phones are getting access to a Pixel feature without having to buy a Pixel phone, which is good to see.

Google’s Wallpapers app requires Android 4.1 or higher and can be found in the Play Store right here.
