Verizon and T-Mobile say replacement Galaxy Note 7 owners can exchange for a different phone

After Sprint and AT&T confirmed that they’d let owners of replacement Galaxy Note 7 units exchange their phone for another device, Verizon and T-Mobile have now done the same.

Verizon says that anyone with a replacement Note 7 that’s concerned about their device “will be able to exchange it for an alternate smartphone.”

Meanwhile, T-Mobile has updated its Note 7 recall policy to say that any T-Mo customer can return their Note 7 and get a full refund and choose from any device in T-Mobile’s inventory. “This applies to recalled, replacement, and newly purchased Note 7s,” T-Mo says.

These announcements come days after the news that a replacement Galaxy Note 7 overheated and scorched an airplane’s floor. While Samsung hasn’t issued a second Note 7 recall — it’s still investigating the aforementioned airplane incident — some Note 7 owners may not want to risk their device overheating. Now they can exchange their Note 7 and get a totally different device if they’d like.
