Less than two weeks after T-Mobile One was announced, T-Mobile says that it’s making some changes to its new plan.
With the revised T-Mobile One plan, customers will get increased mobile hotspot speeds. The old plan maxed out at 2G mobile hotspot speeds, but the new T-Mobile One offers unlimited mobile hotspot at 3G (512kbps) speeds.
The second tweak involves HD video. Previously, T-Mobile One customers would have to pay $25 per month for unlimited HD video, but now they can get an HD Day Pass. These HD Day Passes cost $3 each and offer 24 hours of unlimited HD video streaming. HD Day Passes will be available starting in October.
Finally, T-Mobile says that its moving up the launch date of T-Mobile One. The plan was slated to arrive on Sept. 6, but it’ll now be available starting Sept. 1.
Also announced today is T-Mobile One Plus, a new add-on that replaces the old $25 HD video and $15 hotspot add-ons. T-Mobile One Plus costs $25 per month per line and offers unlimited 4G LTE mobile hotspot.
Also included with T-Mobile One Plus is unlimited HD Day Passes. This means that you can get unlimited HD video streaming, but you’ve got to remember to activate your HD Day Pass every day that you want that high-quality video streaming.
T-Mobile One Plus offers an international data roaming speed bump, too. While T-Mobile One customers get unlimited data at speeds up to 128kbps, those that opt for T-Mobile One Plus will get speeds up to 256kbps. Those speeds are good in more than 140 countries and destinations.
T-Mobile does still offer its $95 Simple Choice Unlimited plan, so if you think that that plan better suits your needs, you can still get it. It’ll only be around until Sept. 1, though, so you don’t have much longer to sign up. Customers can keep their existing plan once T-Mobile One launches.
