HTC One A9s revealed in new image leak

Last year, HTC introduced a new hero phone in the One A9, which offered a sort of One M flagship styling in a more affordable package. Now a new report claims that HTC is prepping a follow-up to the One A9.

The HTC One A9s will make its debut later this week, says VentureBeat. The One A9s, which you can see above, will look largely similar to last year’s One A9. The rear camera has shifted from the center to the corner, and it looks like the front-facing camera is moving, too, but the design is largely unchanged form last year.

In terms of specs, there’s not a whole lot known right now. The One A9s is expected to have a 13-megapixel rear camera, which is the same as the One A9, while the front-facing camera will reportedly be a 5-megapixel shooter.

There’s no word on pricing or a launch date yet, but the One A9s will allegedly be available in white, black, gold, and silver color options. It's said that HTC will announce the One A9s on Sept. 1, one day before IFA 2016 kicks off.

The One A9 was a nice upper mid-range Android phone, offering specs like a 5-inch 1920x1080 AMOLED display, octa-core Snapdragon 617 processor, and either 2GB RAM/16GB storage or 3GB/32GB. We’ll have to wait until HTC’s official announcement to learn the One A9s’s spec list, but it’s possible that the new model will be similarly upper mid-range, offering an affordable alternative to the flagship HTC 10.
