HTC smartwatch now rumored to be coming in early June

When Google announced Android Wear in March 2014, HTC was named as one of the many partners of the smartwatch platform. Fast-forward more than two years, though, and there’s still no HTC smartwatch to be found. It was previously expected that that might change in April, but now it’s looking like it could be June.

According to well-known leaker Evan Blass, the HTC smartwatch is coming the week of June 6. No details of the HTC smartwatch have been revealed, but with the week of June 6 just one month away, it may not be long before we know more about HTC’s new wearable.

Rumblings of an HTC smartwatch have been kicking around for years now, and past reports have suggested a few different release windows for the device, including early 2015, February 2016, and April 2016. It’s unclear what’s causing these “delays” — whether it’s HTC pushing back its launch plans or something else — but here’s to hoping that June does indeed bring with it HTC’s new wearable. The HTC 10 is an attractive metal slab of a phone, and so I’m looking forward to seeing what HTC can do with a smartwatch.
