Samsung Launches Galaxy J7 (2016) and Galaxy J5 (2016) in China

Earlier today, Samsung announced a couple of new smartphones under its Galaxy J series-- the Galaxy J7 (2016) and the Galaxy J5 (2016). The announcement, made in China, ended all speculation about the phones as it talked about the different specs included on each device.

Samsung Galaxy J7 (2016)

The Galaxy J7 (2016) features a 5.5-inch Full HD Super AMOLED display with a 1920x1080 resolution and 401ppi. From within, a 1.6 GHz Octa-Core processor runs with 3GB of RAM and an internal storage of 16GB, expandable by up to 128GB through a microSD card. The camera on the back is a 13MP shooter with autofocus and LED flash. The front is where a 5MP camera for selfies and video chats can be located. Battery-wise, the Galaxy J7 (2016) packs in a 3,300 mAh removable battery.

Samsung Galaxy J5 (2016)

The second smartphone Samsung launched today is the Galaxy J5 (2016), a smaller device with a 5.2-inch Super AMOLED display with 1280x720 resolution and 282ppi. There is a 1.2 GHz Quad-Core processor with 2GB of RAM operating within it. Like the Galaxy J7 (2016), the Galaxy J5 (2016) comes with an internal storage of 16GB and a microSD card slot for up to 128GB memory expansion. The front and rear cameras on the Galaxy J5 (2016) have the same megapixel count as its bigger brother. Meanwhile, the battery on the Galaxy J5 (2016) is a 3,100 mAh removable battery.

The two devices will be available in three color options: White, Pink and Gold.

As of this writing, the Galaxy J7 (2016) and Galaxy J5 (2016) will initially be available in China. Samsung has not yet given any information as to when these two phones will be released outside the country.
