The rumor mill has churned out a lot of details on HTC’s next Android flagship, including specs and some photos. Now the device’s name has leaked, too.
HTC’s next big Android phone will be known simply as the “HTC 10,” according to Evan Blass. Shortly after Blass tweeted the name, @OnLeaks shared what appears to be a screenshot from a device identifying itself as the HTC 10.
Up until now, many had expected that HTC’s next flagship would be called the HTC One M10, following the naming scheme of past HTC flagships. It looks like HTC may be looking to simplify with its 2016 hero phone, dropping both the letter M and the One brand that it debuted with the One X, One S, and One V. While the HTC 10 name is still unconfirmed, HTC has been using the hashtag #powerof10 with the teasers for its next flagship.
In other HTC 10 news, some images of the device have been leaked this morning by @Onleaks and Evan Blass. The phone looks similar to the HTC 10 units that’ve leaked before, but in one image, we can see some capacitive Back and Recent Apps buttons on either side of the fingerprint reader. On the back of the phone, we can see antenna breaks and chamfered edges, the latter of which were teased by HTC recently, and the bottom of the phone is home to a USB Type-C port.
It’s said that this HTC 10 prototype is packing a 5.15-inch 2560x1440 display, Snapdragon 820 processor, 4GB of RAM, and a 12-megapixel camera. A previous rumor suggested that the HTC 10 will also include 32GB of storage, a microSD slot, and Android 6.0.1 running beneath HTC's custom Sense UI.
