After being the subject of a few rumors dating back to early December 2015, the HTC One M10 may finally have been revealed in a new image leak.
Evan Blass has shared a photo of what may be the HTC One M10. The device has rounded corners, a oblong home button that may serve as a fingerprint reader, and a front-facing camera. There appears to be a notification LED on the front as well, and on the side we can see a power/lock button and a volume rocker.
Interestingly, there’s no HTC branding on the front of the device, something that Blass alluded to yesterday. Past One M flagships have all included black strips with HTC branding below their screens, but users often complained that these strips made the phone taller without adding any sort of functionality. With the One M10, it looks like HTC may be taking that feedback to heart.
This One M10 also lacks the large BoomSound front-facing speaker grilles that were present on the M7, M8, and M9. A recent leak suggested that the M10 will go without BoomSound front-facing speakers, but it’s still kind of strange to see a One M flagship without them.
The One M10’s feature set is rumored to include an octa-core Snapdragon 820 processor, 4GB of RAM, 5.1-inch 2560x1440 display, a 12-UltraPixel rear camera, 32GB of storage, and a microSD slot. If the leaks and rumors hold true, the One M10 will have a few big changes from past HTC flagships, including its missing HTC logo and front-facing speakers. HTC is also rumored to be using an UltraPixel rear camera again after using a standard 20-megapixel rear camera on the One M9. It’ll be interesting to see if upgrades like a Quad HD display, fingerprint reader, and missing front HTC branding will get folks excited for the One M10, and I’m also looking forward to seeing how that UltraPixel rear camera performs.
