iPad Pro leaks hint at early November release, Lightning cable adapter for Apple Pencil

When Apple introduced us to the iPad Pro, it said that the ginormous iOS tablet would launch sometime in November. Thanks to a new leak, we may now have a bit more info on when the iPad Pro will launch.

A report from 9to5Mac claims that AppleCare staff are now being trained on the iPad Pro and that they’re expected to complete that training by November 6. Apple would probably like to launch the iPad Pro while that information is fresh in its workers’ minds, so the iPad Pro could launch in the early part of November.

Today’s leak has also revealed a second way that you’ll be able to charge the Apple Pencil. We already know that the Pencil has a Lightning connector that can be plugged into the iPad Pro’s Lightning port for charging, but a document shows that Apple will also include an adapter with the Apple Pencil that’ll enable the stylus to be charged with a Lightning cable, much like other iOS devices.

The iPad Pro is the newest member of Apple’s line of iOS tablets. It boasts a 12.9-inch 2732x2048 display that Apple is touting as being good for productivity. You can illustrate with it using the Apple Pencil, use split-screen multitasking to run two apps side-by-side (with each app being the size of the iPad Air 2 screen), or you can use the full-sized Smart Keyboard to get some typing done. The iPad Pro can also be good as a content consumption device thanks to its large display and four speakers, one in each of the tablet’s corners.

The iPad Pro will start at $799 for the 32GB Wi-Fi model. The next step up is a 128GB Wi-Fi model that’ll sell for $949, and there’s also a 128GB Wi-Fi + Cellular model that’ll cost $1079.
