The BlackBerry Venice is one of the leakier handsets in recent memory, showing up in rumor reports, press renders, and hands-on photos. Now the leaks continue with a hands-on video of the device.
Baka Mobile, a retailer for Canadian carrier Bell Mobility, has posted a near-4 minute hands-on video with the BlackBerry Venice. The clip shows off the Android software running on the device as well as features like Tap to Wake and shortcuts for BlackBerry Hub, Google Now, and BlackBerry Search when you slide your finger up from the home button.
In terms of hardware, we get a look at all sides of the Venice. The left side of the phone houses a power/lock button, while the right side has its volume buttons and a convenience key. On the top of the phone lives a microSD slot and a SIM slot. Finally, sliding up the Venice’s screen reveals its physical keyboard that can also be used as a trackpad, similar to the BlackBerry Passport’s keyboard.
While there’s not a ton of new information about the Venice revealed in this latest leak, the video does give us our first look at the phone in use. So far it looks like a well-made phone, and the user in the video says that it’s “comfortable” to use and doesn’t feel bottom-heavy, so that’s good to hear considering that the Venice looks to have a large screen.
The BlackBerry Passport is rumored to be launching in November on all four major US carriers.
