Samsung phone with foldable display reportedly in testing ahead of January debut

One of Samsung’s “things” is to do interesting stuff with the displays on its smartphones, like making them huge, curving the whole screen, or adding curved edges. Now a new report claims that Samsung’s got a new screen trick up its sleeve.

Samsung is reportedly testing a phone with a foldable display. The device is said to be codenamed “Project Valley” and is rumored to include 3GB of RAM, a microSD slot, and a non-removable battery. There are allegedly two versions of Project Valley currently undergoing testing: one with a Snapdragon 620 processor and one with a Snapdragon 820 chipset.

There are still a lot of questions about this foldable display, like exactly how it’ll work and what purpose it’ll serve. It definitely sounds like an interesting device, though, and the good news is that it’s currently expected to make its debut in January 2016, so it may only be a few months before our questions about foldable displays are answered.
